Royal Academy Reports Record Enrollment This Year
More young nobles enrolling in royal academy than ever before; program expanded to include new provinces.
The morning gates at the Royal Academy now open to lines of students that wind past the outer courtyard before first lesson bells. Tutors told PMN they have never seen this many young nobles and administrators' children arrive in a single cycle.
New entrants have traveled from provinces as distant as Egypt and India, bringing different accents, writing habits, and legal customs into one shared curriculum. In one rhetoric class I observed, students debated provincial taxation in three languages before the instructor asked for a single formal imperial summary.
Parents described enrollment as both prestige and precaution. "If governance is becoming more complex, my son needs better training than I had," one provincial scribe said while waiting outside the records hall.
The Head Scholar praised the incoming cohort's discipline and said the academy is expanding mentorship tracks in law, administration, and diplomacy to match demand. Dormitory staff confirmed that overflow housing has already been activated for the term.
Plans for satellite campuses in Babylon and Memphis are expected next year. For now, the academy feels like a concentrated map of the empire itself: ambitious, crowded, and trying to educate its next generation in the middle of uncertainty.
